TIM MAYNARD

Chair of Trustees

Tim Maynard is a chartered accountant and retired at the end of 2020, working for Price Waterhouse, Savills and Azzuri Communications. His focus is now working within the charity sector as both a Trustee and Mentor. Tim brings his financial expertise to 100 & First Foundation and keeps us on track with our finances!

BEN BOUGHTON-WHITE

Trustee

Ben brings a wealth of experience to his role as Operations Director at Dorwest Herbs, using his expertise gained from working within systems engineering and cybersecurity for international and defence consultancies. With a decade of leadership at Dorwest, Ben has expertly navigated the company through substantial growth, emphasizing process-led change and operational efficiency. His background equips him with a unique blend of technical skills and strategic insight, which has been instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence and robust business management within the company. Outside of work, Ben is a passionate sports fan, (lifelong Aston Villa fan), and enjoys year-round sea-swimming, spending time with his family and dogs, enriching his life with balance and joy.

CHARLOTTE POWLESLAND

Trustee

Charlotte's is passionate about mental wellbeing and has a background in safeguarding vulnerable adults within the prison estate before moving into safeguarding in an education setting. Outside of work Charlotte spends her time coaching in the gym or signing up to her next running event. 

GEORGE MAYHEW

Trustee

George is a seasoned communications executive with over 30 years’ experience spanning multiple industries across the UK and US. He has a track record of successfully driving through positive reputational change and resolving significant crisis management issues in complex and high-profile industries. George’s specialist experience spans strategic communications, public relations, crisis communications, government and regulatory engagement, and sustainability/ESG frameworks in large complex organisations.  

He is currently Director of Corporate Affairs at XLCC, having joined in September 2024. Before that he spent three years as Director of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Thames Water and twelve years as Group Corporate Affairs Director at National Grid plc.

Outside work George can be found training in his garage gym, walking the dog and riding off-road motorcycles.
 

SAM CLOAD

CEO

As CEO of 100 & First Foundation, Sam leads the charity’s strategic direction, ensuring its work delivers lasting impact for people affected by the Criminal Justice System and young people facing disadvantage. He oversees governance, growth and innovation, working closely with trustees, partners and communities to build programmes that foster belonging, confidence and positive change.

Having faced his own challenges as a young person, Sam brings genuine empathy and understanding to his work. His background in teaching, coaching and mentorship shapes a people-centred approach to leadership that blends professionalism with authenticity and humour.

Outside of work, Sam loves nothing more than spending time with his young family, raising his young boys in the great outdoors.

Izzy joined us in 2024 as our Head of Delivery. In her role Izzy has helped to innovate our delivery, using her extensive knowledge built up over many years working within the prison estate. Outside of work, you'll probably find Izzy attempting to master her CrossFit skills at her local box

Jay, our Be Rock Solid rugby course project officer, is a current grassroots rugby player and coach who brings strong values and team ethos to his role. He continues to mentor course graduates in HMP Portland and in the community, demonstrating his passion for rehabilitating people and making society a better place.

NATHAN DYER

Project Officer

Nathan Dyer is a dedicated coach and mentor with over 24 years of leadership experience. Drawing on a distinguished military career, Nathan now focuses on supporting young offenders within the prison environment, helping individuals build confidence, develop new skills, and create positive futures. Known for a calm and compassionate approach, he works closely with individuals to unlock their potential and foster personal growth. Passionate about rehabilitation and community change, Nathan brings both strategic leadership and human connection to every programme delivered through the foundation.

WILL FRASER

Founder

Will is an ex professional rugby player for Saracens RFC. Will joined the Saracens Academy in 2005 aged just 14 and was a member of the famed ‘Class of ’08’ alongside the likes of Owen Farrell & Jamie George.

Making his debut in 2012, he was a part of the 5 x Premiership and 2 x European winning team started both finals in the historic 2015/16 European & Premiership Double. After a 10 year playing career unfortunately he was forced to retire from playing in 2017 following a neck injury.

Post his playing career, Will went on to work for the commercial side of the club and founded 100 & First in 2020. A people & culture consultancy transforming organisations by solving the challenge of building resilient, cohesive teams.
